Alison Reeves – Project Manager
Alison Reeves is a Senior Consultant and Project Manager. Her expertise includes developing on-line help systems, writing user guides and producing training course material.
She is a fully qualified Information Mapping and DocuTools practitioner, and has both a Business and a Marketing degree.
Alison sees a strong link between good Help systems and Sales and Marketing:
“The most important function of a Help system is to provide the answer to a user's problem. But, there is another issue – brand loyalty. Help systems are used regularly – a few times a week or a good deal more in some cases. In addition to offering assistance, your Help system acts as a company representative, which is why the look and feel needs to be appealing and welcoming and reflect your ‘brand’.
One thing is certain: the winners in the IT world rank Help and user documentation with the same level of importance as the product. Admittedly, there wouldn’t be Help without a product, but it’s also true to say that a product wouldn’t be complete without Help.”
