Founder and Director. Janet is a highly experienced technical author. Before starting Plain Words she was involved in all aspects of documentation production as an author, editor, translator and documentation manager.

Peter Meherne

Director. Peter has a wealth of experience in IT as a systems analyst, project manager, trainer and course developer.

Abi Smith

Training Manager. Abi has been part of the Plain Words team since 2001, progressing through various roles and gathering a substantial knowledge of the business along the way.

Alison Reeves

Senior Consultant and Project Manager. Alison's expertise includes developing on-line help systems, writing user guides and producing training course material.

Julie Hallett

Project Manager. Julie's expertise lies in course development and training, user guides, technical specifications, and quality procedures (ISO9000), along with project management.

Iain Harrison

Web Manager. Iain is an experienced technical author, web designer and developer. He looks after our web sites as well as developing useable and effective sites for clients.

Alison has been a technical author since 1994 and training others has been a part of her life for nearly 25 years.

Sally Young

Sally is a documentation consultant and trainer.

Giulia De Cesare

Giulia’s love of writing led her to become a writing skills trainer.

Rob Irwin

Rob has over 20 years’ experience as a creative, business and technical writer in the UK and Canada.

Clare Bentham

Clare has worked in IT communication, training and education for over 20 years.
